Husband and wife Heinrich and Minna Handwerck started their doll company in 1876. They designed their own heads, but most of the production of these heads was by Simon Halbig. In 1902, after Heinrich’s death, Minna sold their workshop to Kammer & Reinhart, who were able to increase their quality and production because of the continued collaboration with Simon Halbig.
